The recent evolution of Search & Rescue Education and Certification has been nothing less than astounding. Gone are the days of total in-house training and self-certifications. While volunteers will continue to make up the majority of our SAR cadre members, our citizens and responsible agencies demand they train and test to the same professional levels as our paid public safety providers. At AERIE, we believe that a strong foundation in the “basics” is the only way to achieve high levels of quality responders. All of our SAR programs, regardless of discipline, stress a “building block” approach taking the student from the fundamentals at the Awareness Level through the complex techniques of the Technical Level progressing on to the multifaceted abilities of the Advanced Level Responder. Unlike many organizations providing “short cut” training opportunities with unclear delineation of training and testing levels, AERIE maintains a clear demarcation between the Levels of our Training and Certification programs. Combined with the most innovative educational techniques and the preeminent Training and Testing Criteria, your AERIE Educated and Certified Responders will demonstrate far superior capabilities than responders trained and/or certified by other organizations.
