SAR Unit Leader™
SEARCH & RESCUE UNIT LEADER CERTIFICATION (SAR UNIT LEADER™)
The SAR UNIT LEADER™ certification is awarded upon successful completion of three (3) phases. Phase 1 requires the completion of the AERIE SARResponder© class and the successful completion of the AERIE SARResponder™ 2 certification. Phase 2 requires completion of the AERIE™ UNIT LEADER: EMERGENCY RESPONSE™ or SAR UNIT LEADER™ course (or an approved military or public safety equivalent). Phase 3 requires the successful completion of the AERIE™ SAR UNIT LEADER™ examination. This final examination is conducted as a written examination only.
The candidate for this certification is required to complete a final exam consisting of a combination of 100 multiple choice (subject matter), “fill in the blank”, and short descriptive (essay) questions. The successful candidate will have completed the examination with a minimum score of 70%.
